February 2008

Yes, according to Neil Peirce of the Washington Post. In his 3/2 article (leaked to the media already), he points to the bike share programs in place in Paris, Rome, London, and Louisville, KY, as well as those in the works in the U.S as evidence of the resurgence of bicycling as transportation. Let’s hope he’s right!

NBC, the producers of “The Biggest Loser” and other shameless programming, are fighting an expansion of the LA River Bike Path which would go behind their studio, according to the LA Times.

They don’t have a mailing address for their studio lot, I’ll update when I find it, but feel free to send your complaints to the nightly news or the Today Show:

NBC Today Show

Or Just threaten to stop watching, and boycott their advertisers.

How much easier can supporting bike advocacy be than eating delicious food? We’ll be kicking off our Bicycle-Friendly Business program on Monday, Feb 25 at Watercourse Foods, which is generously donating a percentage of the day’s sales to BD. Ride your bike to 17th Ave & Emerson and we’ll see you there! Information table and Bicycle-Friendly Business award presentation at dinner.
