Of all publications, the Wall Street Journal posted this great video on bike commuting:
Watch it here
Our friends over at Transportation Alternatives did a nice job talking about how bike infrastructure leads to increased ridership. Nice work guys, that’s what it will take.

Have you heard of the Flobots? They’re a Denver band and they have a new single out called “Handlebars.” The song isn’t exactly all about bicycling, but it’s worth the watch!
Once again, thanks to Fritz for the alert.

Have a look at this PSA from Hungary. Use earphones if you’re at work! Pretty racy.

But of course we’re not surprised! What a beautiful, amazing sight. Estimates are 75,000 attendees and 8,000 bikes. And, yes, the sun does shine in Portland!

Why are you or aren’t you biking to work? Biking is healthy, it prevents air pollution, and it can even save you money (filled your tank recently?). So why aren’t you biking to work? Need more bike paths? Different policies from your employer? Government sponsorship or policies? Or are you just a couch potato? If you ARE biking, tell us about your route and experiences!

This is bike porn, but not in a good way. From Sweden: A 40-year old man from Ostersund, has been convicted of sexual molestation having got rather too ‘up close and personal’ with the saddles of local women’s bicycles, the Östersunds-Posten newspaper reports.
Here at BikeDenver, we try to keep you apprised of the latest in bicycle oddities.
Again, thanks to Fritz for scouring the newswires to bring us the latest.

As written by Jordan Ames on May 7, 2008 in DU Today…
The University of Denver will host a special appearance by seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong on Tuesday, May 13.Â
Armstrong’s appearance in Denver will be one of his four stops on a daylong cross-country trek to support the 2008 LiveStrong Day.LiveStrong Day is the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s one-day initiative to raise awareness and funds for the cancer fight. This year more than 500 events will take place in communities across the country. Each LiveStrong Day activity is being organized by a volunteer who decided to make a difference in his or her community. The University of Denver event is organized by Kerrie Rueda, assistant director of campus activities. Her involvement with the Lance Armstrong Foundation began when her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Â
“As an avid cyclist and Lance Armstrong fan, my dad found great inspiration in Lance’s story and in the support made available to cancer survivors by the Lance Armstrong Foundation,†Rueda says. “When I realized that I couldn’t do anything to help my father overcome his illness, I decided to take action to help others and felt that the foundation was the perfect organization to work with.
â€The event — which will be held from 2–4 p.m. on the Driscoll Lawn — will feature talks by DU-affiliated cancer survivors; tables with information and resources about cancer prevention, statistics and support; voter registration stations and Lance Armstrong Foundation petition signing stations and more. Armstrong is tentatively scheduled to appear from 2:45–3:45 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required. Members of the Denver community planning to attend the event are encouraged to utilize light rail or to come to campus via bicycle as an alternative to driving. A bike valet station will be available and marked the day of the event. For more information, contact Kerrie Rueda atkrueda@du.edu or 303-871-4213.Â
