Rebecca Cales – Associate Director, Transportation Solutions

Rebecca is a Colorado College alumna with a BS in Biology and is currently working on a Master’s in Urban Planning at the University of Colorado Denver. Her work at Transportation Solutions has included community outreach, monitoring state and local policy, and managing program activities and volunteers. She has a background in solid waste, air quality, transportation and sustainability education from Bridging the Gap—Kansas City, Missouri’s largest environmental nonprofit agency. A hiking and biking enthusiast, Rebecca is pleased to combine her love of the outdoors with improving air quality, promoting active living, and reducing traffic gridlock in the Denver area.

Mark Chapman (Secretary) – Marketing Specialist, Gates Corporation

Mark earned a BS in Aerospace from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. He recently spent a year of studying in Tours, France, earning a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning at Universite Francois-Rabelais. Mark markets and promotes the Gates Carbon Drive system for the Gates Corporation. Mark rode his first century at age 13 and met his wife Stephanie while riding and watching the Giro d’Italia on vacation in the Italian Dolomites. Mark lives in the Washington Park neighborhood and has been involved in advocating for bicycles during the Washington Park Master plan process. He rides single speeds, road bikes, mountain bikes, commuters, cruisers or even a tandem around town.

Malia Campbell – Assistant Property Manager, Sopra Communities

Malia is a graduate of the University of Colorado, where she obtained a degree in architecture and environmental design. At Mile High Business Alliance, she worked as Campaign & Event Coordinator to build a more resilient local economy by bringing Colorado-based businesses and organizations together. Previously she was Economic Development and Downtown Environment Coordinator at the Downtown Denver Partnership. Malia attempts to live her life car-free by riding, busing, or walking whenever possible.

David Cowan – Program Manager, National Safe Routes to School Partnership

Dave went to the University of Minnesota where he obtained a degree in speech communications and minored in Spanish. He is the former Director of Education at Bicycle Colorado, Colorado’s state-wide advocacy organization, and has trained over 30,000 K-8th graders in bicycle and pedestrian safety. Dave is a certified instructor for the League of American Bicyclists. He rides all over town for transportation, loves mountain biking, and can even be spotted competing in the occasional triathlon. David cites bicycling as his favorite pastime and is busy trying to convince his new daughter of this.

Robert Clark – Electrical Designer, MEA Consulting Engineers

A graduate of Westwood, Denver native and long-time cyclist Robert is serving his second term with BikeDenver. He has helped improve local bicycling by working with RTD to allow bikes aboard light-rail trains, as well as with the Senate Transportation Committee to pass the three-foot bill. Robert is also a cycling instructor for the League of American Bicyclists. On the weekends he enjoys working on bikes, and doing business as “The Bike Whisperer.”

Eliza Lanman – Senior Program Director, American Lung Association in Colorado

Eliza earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Texas and a Masters in Social Science from the University of Colorado at Denver. She has 7 years experience in non-profit management with a focus on grant seeking and writing, implementing and strengthening policy and project management. Eliza is a mountain biker, avid bike commuter and, back in the day, could be found on the BMX trails. Eliza is excited to be involved with Bike Denver as they facilitate the physical and social norm changes that are happening in Denver around bicycling and healthier living.

Carolyne Janssen – Graphic Designer, City of Denver

Carolyne is a Colorado native who graduated from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. She’s worked as a production coordinator with Altitude Sports & Entertainment, and been a graphic design and production manager at the University of Colorado at Denver’s Auraria Media Center. Carolyne’s work in the community is varied. She’s been a Denver County Fair organizer, and a long-time heirloom tomato breeder and grower. She’s also been a bike-commuter for nearly 18 years.

Jodi Kopke (Treasurer) – Director of Marketing & Business Development, Kutak Rock LLP

Jodi has a degree in Women’s Studies and Psychology from Bates College and an MBA from the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business. She has over 10 years experience in marketing and public relations including positions with Colorado’s Department of Public Health & Environment and Renew Communications. In addition to her work with BikeDenver, Jodi is co-Chair of the Program Committee for the Colorado Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association.

Rob Price (President) – Non-Profit Administration Certificate Candidate, Metro State University

Rob attended the Metropolitan State College of Denver with a degree in communications. Previously he worked for CBS radio as a traffic manager and at 9News as an inventory specialist. He is also the former owner of the Aspen Pedal Limo pedi-cab business and current member of OUT spokin’, a GLBT cycling organization.
