Let’s give a very warm welcome to the newest faces at BikeDenver: Deirdre Moynihan, Ryan McCann, Laura Baker and Meg Slattery!
Deirdre is serving as the operations manager this summer. She’s bringing her event planning, marketing and organizational finesse to help BikeDenver become increasingly efficient and effective during this exciting time of growth. With her magic touch and appreciation for biking, the organization will run smoothly, like the well-lubricated chain propelling your bike forward.
Ryan is joining the staff as the summer outreach coordinator to organize the bike parking program and talk with the community about the benefits of biking. He brings his interest in sustainability and love for biking to us as a student in the master’s of resources law studies program at the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver and has a foot on pedals all over the bike community in Denver, including an internship with the city bicycle coordinator!
Laura comes to BikeDenver as the communications coordinator intern from the master’s program in media studies at the University of Denver. With a borderline obnoxious love for biking and a special interest in activist and advocacy nonprofits as her background, she will be helping out with the organization’s online and offline communications work this summer.
Meg will be helping everybody and doing a little bit of everything this summer as the special events intern. On break from school at Vassar, she will be lending her warm smile and interest in alternative transportation to the cause and making this jam-packed summer of bicycle fun one of best ever. She will be an important part of making Viva Streets happen!
“BikeDenver is pleased to welcome these terrific bike enthusiasts to the team!” said executive director Piep van Heuven. “Collectively, they bring a wealth of experience, energy and enthusiasm and we can’t wait to get them out into the community to meet you, and help show how increasing bicycling benefits our neighbors and neighborhoods in Denver.”
As the fantastic BikeDenver supporter that you are, you’re bound to run into one or all of them in one of their many bicycle adventures around town, so be sure to say hello! Find out more about each new smiling face in the “About Us” section of the website.
