Historic Denver’s Story Trek tapped as August’s Bicycle Friendly Business of the Month

Clif Bar and BikeDenver are pleased to honor Historic Denver’s Story Trek by naming the program the Bicycle Friendly Business of the Month. The Bicycle Friendly Business of the Month recognition program, launched in July, 2009, builds upon the initial success of BikeDenver’s Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) Program that recognizes businesses, organizations and workplaces that are leading the way to make bicycling an easy and accepted form of transportation in Denver. Clif Bar’s Corey Clark says, “Clif Bar is proud to sponsor the BFB of the Month awards. Clif Bar & Company employees really make an effort to ride our bikes not only to get exercise but to also use those two wheels as a form of transportation. We are lucky to live in Denver where we have miles of amazing bike paths.”

As one of the nation’s premier historic preservation organizations, Historic Denver, Inc. protects the historic neighborhoods that make Denver unique. Historic Denver’s newest program is Denver Story Trek, an interactive, self-guided exploration through Denver that customizes your trek so you can learn more about the city’s historic landscapes and landmarks. The program is well designed for tours by bicycle and many residents and visitors are taking advantage of this great new way to explore and learn more about Denver.

Annie Robb Levinsky, Director of the Molly Brown House Museum and Deputy Director of Historic Denver, Inc. says: “There is no better way to experience a historic place than on a bike- you can really take in the scale and detail of an older building in a way that’s just not possible from a car, so it is important for us to offer and promote biking on Story Trek. Plus, biking is a very Denver-thing to do and we want visitors to experience an authentic part of our lifestyle.”
