Volunteer with Viva Streets; Denver’s Ciclovia, and bring 23rd Avenue to Life for a Day!

It’s time to REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER!  Last year, LiveWell Colorado and BikeDenver hosted Denver’s first ciclovia, which is a Spanish word that means bike path. Based on a long-standing tradition from South America and abroad, our ciclovia has it’s own Colorado flair, which makes it feel like a vacation right at home! If you didn’t make it out to last year’s super successful inaugural event, you don’t want to miss it this time around! Beautiful 23rd Avenue in northeast Denver is closed to car traffic for six hours on Sunday, August 12 and bicyclists, walkers, skaters, strollers and all modes of non-motorized traffic are invited to enjoy the culture of a street that is full of life!

Discover the potential our city streets have to be places where people come together and engage in healthy, community activity. This transformation makes us, our families, local businesses and our neighborhoods stronger! All along the street, from City Park on the west end to Thomas Park in Stapleton on the east end, you will meet other people laughing together, eating healthy, delicious food, trying new activities and learning fun skills.

Bring friends, family, neighbors, kids and dogs! To find out more, visit  Viva Streets 2012

Course Marshal: Course marshals will help maintain a car-free course by paroling an intersection as well as providing directions and assistance to attendees.  Course marshals will be provided a t-shirt, training and event materials.

Activity Zone Volunteers: Help us with the fun events going on at one of our Activity Zones along the route.  The morning shift will help set up and the afternoon shift will help tear down.  During the event you will be helping direct people to activities and helping our partner organizations put on the activities.

Volunteer Hospitality: Help us give our volunteers some love!  Check them in, get them their supplies, and serve lunch.

WE CAN’T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU. All volunteer jobs are broken down into two shifts.  We hope you will sign up for one and enjoy Viva Streets for yourself during the other!
