Here are some comments from past volunteers at BikeDenver’s Bike Parking events.
“You haven’t seen the full spectrum of the Denver bicycle community until you’ve worked a shift for BikeDenver’s valet bike parking. Whether you’re working the People’s Fair, the Taste of Colorado or another event, you’ll see two-wheeling Denverites in their infinite variety–weekend warriors in full spandex regalia, kids teetering on training wheels, tattooed hipsters on cruisers, couples test-driving bicycles built for two–all enjoying the pleasures of car-lessness. Great people watching, fun in the sun and shade, and a totally worthwhile way to support the Denver bike community.”

“This will be my second time parking bikes. I enjoyed it last time for several reasons. I love to people watch and meet new people, especially cyclists. I like to see all the different bikes that come through. But I especially like that I am supporting biking as a way to get to the events. The easier we make it, the more people will ride and leave their cars at home.”

“I love bike parking. You spend a day outside, soak up the sun, people watch and check out all the cool bikes that roll in. It’s also been a fun way to meet people, because these aren’t random strangers that have signed up to park bikes… they’re cyclists, people who think biking is a good way to get around, and who think that the public should be encouraged to ride to events in Denver.”
