Chamberlin Observatory

The Chamberlin Observatory opens its historic and beautiful 120 year-old building and telescope on Saturday October 20! Located in Observatory Park near DU (Evans and Fillmore), there is also a telescope party on the grass. Come ride with us, check out the stars, then partake in some local drink/food! This is a leisurely ride on quiet streets, everyone is welcome.

Meet at 7pm, at the new Art Museum plaza, near 13th and Bannock. Ride 6 miles to the park, bike back or take the nearby light rail. Bring your blinky lights, admission to the observatory is $1.

Denver Parks and Rec and the Children’s Museum will be holding a public meeting on September 20th to discuss a possible partnership between the 2 entities regarding Gates-Crescent Park (adjacent to the Children’s Museum). The meeting is regarding a possible expansion of the Children’s Museum through use of the Gates-Crescent Park. Topics will include impact, benefits, concerns and advantages. The meeting is of interest to bicyclists because the expansion is adjacent to the South Platte trail.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Ride for 65 Roses will pass through some of the most scenic towns and terrain this side of the Rockies. From the mountains of Boulder, Lyons, and Ward, to the open fields of Louisville, this century ride will prove to be one of your most memorable rides ever. Scheduled for Sept 8, 2007, the family ride and approximately 20 – 40- 65 mile rides will be limited to 500 riders.
