You’ve probably seen the commercial for the Ford Escape hybrid, where the daughter asks the middle-aged dad to drop her off a few blocks from the destination so her friends won’t see her (people in that part of town ride bikes and drive hybrids and stuff). Anyway, that commercial irritated me instantly, and this post on Streetsblog hit the nail on the head as to why that is so.
