Pro Cycling makes a comeback in Colorado. Hurry to your nearest Quiznos to celebrate!

What a great day for Colorado bicycling yesterday! Another sunny morning, a press conference on the Capitol Steps, an opportunity to celebrate with a Governor who has signed key bike-friendly legislation, and the sheer fun of the Twitter ride on Speer Boulevard and around Washington Park with Lance Armstrong… That’s right, Lance Armstrong.
All that excitement too much for you? Head to your nearest Quiznos immediately to fuel up and celebrate! And don’t forget to say thank you, because Quiznos (that little sub shop that began 30 years ago in Denver) is bringing Pro Cycling back to Colorado after a 22-year hiatus.
Apparently it all started on a bike ride. At the press conference, Lance said the thought came to him during one of those long training hours. He decided he’d better give Colorado Governor Ritter a ring. About one year later, we’ve got the Quiznos Pro Challenge announcement on the Capitol steps and massive media attention to go along with it. And the best part? The 7-day stage race will either start or finish right here in Denver.
Didn’t catch all the excitement? Here are a few photos and media links to help you “read in”. And don’t forget to save the dates: August 22-28.
