Action Alert: Ask Senators Bennet and Udall to keep bike funding in the federal transportation bill
Bicycle Colorado is tracking the developments in the federal transportation bill (titled MAP 21), and now is the best time to act. The current U.S. Senate version of the bill weakens funding requirements for biking programs. The Cardin-Cochran amendment would put dedicated funding for bicycling programs back into the bill.

Please contact Colorado’s U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and Mark Udall and ask them to vote for the Cardin-Cochran amendment on MAP 21. The vote could happen the week of February 13, so please call today. Let them know:
- Bicycling and walking projects are low-cost and create more jobs per dollar than any other kind of highway spending.
- Bicycling and walking reduce traffic congestion, increase safety and improve people’s health.
Thanks for your help keeping bicycling part of the transportation program.
